District 5340’s 20th Annual Model United Nations Conference was held last week on March 23-24, 2024 at the Del Mar City Hall. Congratulations to all 81 Student Delegates, 11 student Secretaries-General, and all Advisors, both Teachers and Rotarians, who participated in this year’s Conference!
Once again, our outstanding high school students impressed us with their leadership and team-player abilities, their grace and strength under fire, their negotiations, conflict-resolution and coalition-building skills.
Rotary International and the United Nations are globally recognized organizations and Rotary was intricately involved in the formation and Charter of the UN. This Model UN experience will be beneficial to our students in their college applications, collegiate studies and future career endeavors. In fact, many of our Model UN alumni have pursued careers in international relations and other humanitarian vocations.
