Is your club looking for a great project that will make a difference?
The at 5340 Military Coordinating Committee has a project that might interest you. Not many people know that there is a robust and active Junior Equestrian Camp at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base that is connected to their stables. This program doesn’t get much funding from the Marine Corps, and they are looking for help to spruce up their stable buildings that have seen better days.
They have 13 buildings just like the one above in dire need of painting and are looking for help to get the job done. Here’s the good news. Camp Pendleton will provide all the paint and related equipment, and your Rotary Club just needs to show up and get to work. It shouldn’t take more than a day to paint a building depending on how many Rotarians you bring. Base access will also be facilitated. There is no timeline on doing the work so this might be a great project to plan on in the new year. This would be a great Rotarians at Work project and a fun time to get out in the sunshine and make a difference. And remember…there is no cost.
