On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Rotaract District 5340 brought together members of the Rotaract and Rotary family for its annual Walk To End Polio at Balboa Park in San Diego.

Held from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m., the event welcomed approximately 70 participants, including Interactors, Rotaractors, Rotarians, and even some fur friends, brought together by a shared commitment to eradicating polio worldwide.

Participants enjoyed a scenic walk through Balboa Park, following an abridged version of the famous Seven Bridges route. Dressed in red to show their support for End Polio Now, a global initiative dedicated to permanently eradicating polio through vaccinations and advocacy, attendees came together for a morning of fellowship and service. Through the generosity of participants and supporters, the event raised $1,550 in support of End Polio Now.

For more than 45 years, Rotary International has been at the forefront of global polio eradication efforts. Since the launch of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988, worldwide polio cases have decreased by 99.9%. The Walk to End Polio is an annual tradition for Rotaract District 5340, and the event supports a cause that has been central to Rotary's mission for decades as it works toward eradicating the disease for good. Rotaract District 5340 extends its gratitude to everyone who helped make this year's walk a success.
