Adolescent Behavioral and Mental Health

Mental health is an important part of overall health for children as well as adults. For many adults who have mental disorders, symptoms were present—but often not recognized or addressed—in childhood and adolescence.  By making more people aware of the importance of Adolescent Behavioral and Mental Health we hope to shine additional light on this subject through education and awareness.

How Can Rotary Help?

One of the great strengths of Rotary is the ability to rally behind a common goal. Rotarians like to consider themselves problem solvers.  The Rotary Action Plan includes “…PEOPLE UNITE AND TAKE ACTION TO CREATE LASTING CHANGE…”
In the 2022-2023 year the Rotary District 5340 will turn the spotlight on to Adolescent Behavioral Mental Health and mental health initiatives. The District will encourage Rotary Clubs to rally around this “Call to Action” and to create programs and services that help to grow awareness of the problem, to raise money to help existing service providers and to identify and target ways to help within their community.

Behavioral Health Team

District 5340 has formed the Behavioral Health Team to focus on Adolescent Behavioral and Mental Health under the leadership of Chuck Pretto.
