Fires across the Los Angels area have killed at least 27 people, destroyed more than 12,000 structures and charred more than 60 square miles.  The Palisades and Eaton wildfires continue to burn as of this writing.  Learn how you can help (includes local projects).

MISSION VALLEY EVENING HOLDING A FOOD PACKAGING EVENT - FEBRUARY 15 from 9-10AM at the Torrey Pines Christian Church, 8320 La Jolla Scenic Drive N in La Jolla - the Misson Valley Evening Rotary Club invites Rotarians across the district to help them put together 30,000 meal packs.  They need 200 volunteers.  Meals will be transported (for free) by the Convoy of Hope, who will take it to distribution locations in the LA area.  They are also looking for help in raising $12,000 to cover the cost of meal contents, which will be partially covered by the club's Trivia Night proceeds - click here to sign up to be a volunteer and/or to make a contribution to this effort- click here to register or donate to this cause.
 
COLLECTION CENTERS - BOTH EVACUATION AND ANIMAL SHELTERS - needed items include water, blankets, bottled water, face masks, snacks, ready-to-eat nonperishables, toiletries, OTC medicines, boxes, batteries, new socks and undergarments, and/or items for animal shelters.  The Encinitas Rotary Club's "Animal House" is a drop off location for donated items.  Members of the club make weekly trips to LA to bring the donations to evacuation sites.
