There are two Polio immunization missions (NID) which will be among the highlights of this Rotary year. This unique opportunity for you to visit India, administer the lifesaving two drops of the polio vaccine to children and witness firsthand the remarkable progress that Rotary members in India have achieved in their fight against polio over the years. It is a truly inspiring experience that celebrates Rotary's enduring commitment to a polio free world and the END POLIO NOW campaign.
There will be two trips - one in October of this year the second in March of 2027.

Here is a testimony of one of our District 5340 Rotarians, Mike Fuqua, who has participated as a volunteer in a prior polio trip:
“In January 2019, myself and my wife Patty, Charley Crew and his wife Barb and Gary Saks and his wife Didi embarked on the trip of a lifetime. We arrived in Delhi, India on January 2 and spent the next eleven days making new Rotary friends, experiencing the wonder of India, seeing sights that we could only imagine, spent time seeing the hugely impactful projects that Rotary is managing in India, and of course, administering Polio vaccine to small, vulnerable and extremely poor children. A trip to India is challenging for Americans. It is radically different in so many ways and can be intimidating. But having local Rotarians arrange and lead the trip was comforting. The hotels were 5 -star, the food was great and our safety was never in question. We came home changed. We came home with a new energy and appreciation for the work that Rotary does. We came home wowed by India and everything she has to offer. We came home having seen sights that only few Americans can imagine. We came hope deeply impacted by the simple act of administering a few drops of Polio vaccine to children in desperately poor villages whose parents were obviously grateful. We have kept in contact with our Rotary friends in the Rotary club of Taj Mahal, Agra India. I wish nothing more than for fellow Rotarians to take the trip and I know it will change your life as it did mine.”
