The Rotary E-Club of San Diego is selling a limited edition of beautiful convertible cross body/”fanny” packs from Guatemala.  These make ideal presents for Rotarians who want to give with a purpose.  Two Guatemalan college students, Nallely and Reyna, whom the EClub has been supporting tuition costs through District Grants and private donors, are selling their hand-made products to raise money for needed college expenses outside of tuition.  Click "Read More" for additional information including cost and contact information.

The goal for Nallely and Reyna has always been self-sufficiency. Their brand name is EcoMaya meaning they emphasize Mayan cultural products that are good for the environment.   They started selling their eco products –volcanic ash soap – before the pandemic.  The pandemic interrupted them, but they did not give up.  During the pandemic they sold masks made of authentic Guatemalan fabric.

Today Nallely and Reyna have designed and produced purses with recycled vintage “huipiles” (the authentic hand-woven Guatemalan fabric) on the front. The purses are roomy, lined with Guatemalan plaid fabric. And close with a zipper. One of the girls' mothers has an old-fashioned sewing machine operated by foot that they use.
