Deadline extended to June 15!
When Jasime Tran, a Junior at Mt. Carmel High School was selected by the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club as one of their students to attend RYLA, she didn’t really know what she was in for. But after a weekend in Idyllwild meeting fellow students and participating in the activities that prepare high school Juniors for leadership positions, she was inspired…and ready to act!  Click "Read More" for the full story and how you can help her efforts.
She is now leading an effort at her school to collect shoes for developing countries in collaboration with “Shoes for Hearts”. Not only is this a great endeavor that will benefit micro-enterprise around the world, but it’s also a great fundraiser that will benefit Mt Carmel High School Interact/Helping Hands club.
If you or your club can help, gather unwanted or outgrown and gently used shoes and there is a collection bin by the front gate at Mt. Carmel High School that you can deposit them in.   If you can’t make it to Rancho Penasquitos where Mt Carmel is located, contact Jasmine at or Antoin Albaquin at and they will arrange for pickup.
