The El Cajon Rotary Club holds one fundraiser a year and with the proceeds they issue grants to non-profits, schools, American Legion, Wounded Warriors, Crisis House, Boys & Girls Clubs, HGH, etc. (See Gala flyer under News above in Newsbits.)
One of the grants last year went to Steele Canyon High School's Art Department, teacher Mrs. Kenda Francis. Mrs. Francis had all of the Grossmont High School art teachers choose at least one participant to enter their art project to be displayed in a real art gallery in El Cajon. The students were able to participate in the showing along with sharing their artwork to the public.
Parents, students, friends and family were thrilled to attend the exhibit and teachers were proud to show off their students' fine work. A guesstimate of 100 people attended the Friday night event and it looked spectacular! As you can see from the pictures below it was a great success! The club wants to extend a hardy thank you to Mrs. Francis for sharing their (students) success with El Cajon Rotary Club.
