Once again, the Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club joined with the Santee Santa's Foundation in gearing up for its holiday outreach.  The Santee Santas Foundation is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) registered organization, providing help to members of its community living within the Santee School District and in need of assistance.

Santee Santas’ signature effort is an annual holiday children’s toy and food (grocery store gift card) drive focused on bringing the Christmas spirit to 150-200 families in our community. Their senior outreach program ensures seniors in our community who are living alone or in senior care facilities are not forgotten over the holidays. Their volunteers serve the Santee community throughout the year and have done so since 1953!

The Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club kicked this holiday effort off this past Saturday with their well-organized assembly line method of putting boxes together.  They put a total of 800 boxes together in less than two hours.  Several members also have signed up for packing food items into the boxes they have put together.  Food is placed in boxes with content dependent on family size and toys are sorted and wrapped for recipient children from 0-11. Children 12-18 receive a gift card to purchase a special gift of their choosing. There is a myriad of tasks for volunteers who want to help.  If you'd like to help here is the link to sign up to volunteer.
