RYLA weekend will take place April 12-14, 2024, at the Idyllwild Pines Camp. This exciting program provides high school juniors from throughout District 5340 with a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to connect with other young leaders during an all-expenses-paid weekend. "Rylarians" will be inspired by a diverse group of exceptional speakers, make life-long friends through fellowship activities, and discuss the ethical and social issues of today. These students then return to their schools and communities motivated to take on additional leadership roles and to find additional ways to serve, through Rotary and beyond. Club registration is underway now, and the online student application is live. If your club isn't already involved in RYLA, now is a great time to get involved. Clubs are paired with local high schools that encourage students to apply. Club members then interview applicants and select the number of students they would like to sponsor. Sponsorships are $400 per student.
Clubs can also get involved by providing facilitators to help guide students during the weekend's activities.
Key dates
- December 1, 2023 - Student and facilitator application period opens.
- January 15, 2024 - Club registration deadline (listing how many students from which high schools will be sponsored).
- February 19, 2024 -Student application deadline.
- March 25, 2024 - Clubs complete student interviews.
- April 12-14, 2024 - RYLA weekend.
