The Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club is feeling thankful for an incredible Book Drive they conducted this past October, with books still coming in! More than 6,000 titles were dropped off to benefit the Friends of Santee Library. The collection generated roughly $5,300 in income.  As a result of so many children’s books coming in, they have even partnered with a local nonprofit for a holiday infant-2nd grade book giveaway!

This effort was coordinated by Rotarian Cheryl Cozart who is a retired librarian.  It was also supported by the newly formed Interact Club at Santana High School. Rotarian, Elana Levins-Craig has extensive communication capability due to all of her efforts supporting various programs throughout the region.  Her call to action on the Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club's behalf was definitely fruitful.

Up next for the club will be an activity on December 2 in support of the Santee Santas Foundation and a Holiday card distribution to seniors in local mobile home parks.   More to come as these projects come to fruition.
