Susan Rutan, the International Committee Chair for the La Jolla Rotary Club is organizing a group to go to Puerto Rico to help with relief efforts there.  Even though Hurricane Marie hit in September 2017, there is still a huge need for volunteers to help rebuild homes and offer relief to low income families in need.  We have a profile of the three families that have been approved for assistance and the stories will pull at your heart strings.  The Committee is partnering with SBP - an international volunteer organization who will take care of all logistics.  No previous experience is necessary.  They need volunteers to help with the labor costs to rebuild these families' lives.
Rotarian volunteers will arrive in San Juan on May 26 and begin work on May 27.  On May 28, participants will attend the San Juan Rotary Club meeting and possibly take a city tour.  Volunteers will continue the work project on May 29 and 30, with everyone departing on May 31.  Susan is happy to help with travel arrangements.  If you are interested in joining your fellow Rotarians, going to the Caribbean and making a difference in our neighbor's lives, contact Susan at (858) 361-4436 or connect with her on email at susan.rutan@gmail.com
