We are pleased to announce that Past District Governor Steve Brown was appointed to the International Polio Plus Sub-committee on Afghanistan.
The Committee is responsible for monitoring progress and challenges in polio eradication efforts in the country to determine what more Rotary can do to facilitate progress. The Subcommittee will invite as needed WHO and UNICEF representatives to provide their perspectives on the program. The Subcommittee will report back to the IPPC at each of the three IPPC meetings. The Subcommittee meets virtually bi-monthly/quarterly (TBC). Appointments to the Subcommittee are made annually by the IPPC Chair and are renewable.
Steve has been active in the promotion of polio eradication and vaccination for years as well as many other international efforts. He is most deserving of this appointment, and we offer congratulations and know he will be a valuable member of this committee.
