UCSD Rotaractors have much to be proud of.  Their 10 Annual WAPI project was a whopping success.  Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors from throughout the district joined in to build and test water pasteurization indicators (WAPIs) that will be sent to resource-poor regions across the world.  WAPIs are reusable wax capsules that indicate when heated water has reached pasteurization temperature before boiling point and is safe to be consumed. In some areas of the world, communities collect water from natural sources, which are often ridden with disease-causing bacteria. WAPIs allow these communities to access safe water more efficiently and save on resources. The event yielded over 1000 WAPIs and this year they will be send the country of CHAD.
