The Open World Program offers Rotary/Rotaract clubs in the United States the chance to foster fellowship and international understanding by hosting emerging leaders from various Eurasian countries in their communities. These countries include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, North Macedonia, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Solomon Islands, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.
Rotary/Rotaract clubs are invited to host delegations of six participants for eight days and nights, creating a professional program that showcases business, community, and civic life in the United States.
The program aims to cultivate a network of leaders knowledgeable about American community solutions to contemporary issues, fostering ongoing communication with their American peers and counterparts. These connections often result in collaborative service projects between Rotary clubs in both countries.
Managed by the Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL), an independent U.S. federal agency, the Open World Program is a unique opportunity for Rotary/Rotaract clubs in the U.S., made possible through a grant from Rotary International. Clubs interested in more details can refer to the Rotary Open World brochure.
As a national host organization, Rotary International supports local clubs in hosting Open World delegations. To date, Rotary clubs across 290 cities and 48 states have welcomed over 4,000 of the total 31,000 Open World participants. Participating clubs may receive reimbursement for many hosting expenses via Open World grants.
Is your Rotary Club interested in working on an international project, hosting six Open World participants for eight days/nights, and willing to develop an intensive week of events based on a selected Open World theme? If yes, then the Open World Program would be perfect for your club. Please complete the Host Registration Form and email the completed form to OpenWorld@rotary.org by Monday, 12 August or sooner.
