On Saturday, August 20th, Old Mission Rotary helped staff a STAR/PAL back-to-school event at Colina del Sol Park that included distribution of free back packs with school supplies.
STAR/PAL is a nonprofit organization operating out of a facility in Colina Del Sol Park in mid-city that is dedicated to bringing youth and law enforcement together. Their programs are led by officers of the San Diego Police Department and are free of charge to youth throughout San Diego. The program is a way to promote peace and understanding in the community between residents and police. Old Mission Rotary has participated in several of their events in the past year and was the STAR/PAL Community Partner of the Year for 2020.
