It's with great sorrow that District 5340 announce that after a very long 8-month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and GVHD, Past District Governor Chuck Pretto passed away this morning.
Chuck received his Bone Marrow Transplant on August 29th, but shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with graft versus host disease which caused a great deal of side effects to him, which is very common in most transplant recipients.
The Pretto family would like to thank Rotarians for sending love, cards, words of encouragement and the tender way in which they supported the family on a personal level during these past months.
We will post an update when we have information from his family on services/celebration of life.
