Summer is well underway, and members of the Rotary Club of Poway-Scripps kicked it off at the Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park. Sponsoring the concert series is just one of the club's many projects it supports.
Combining business with pleasure is what we call attending the District Governor's Dinner. What a way to welcome our incoming president, Sumedh Bahl.

Last year, Villa de Vida opened in Poway but due to Covid was unable to celebrate. This year the club organized and provided food for the one-year anniversary. This 52-unit apartment complex is dedicated to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The residents are able to live as independently as possible with support and community enriched activities to meet their needs.

It wasn't all work though as members made time to take in a Padres game. As summer winds down, the club is busy organizing the 57th Annual Poway Rotary Parade to be held Sept. 10.

It took a small village of people to organize, shop for and serve food to the residents of Villa de Vida for its one-year anniversary. On hand were Cecile Bowser, Don Barrett, Mike Golz, Vickie Hoey, Kristin Rayder, Susy Turnbull, Dave Parker, Karen Hererros, and Matthew Perry.
