On April 29th, members of the Imperial Valley Breakfast Rotary Club along with members of the Imperial High School Interact club participated in the 1st annual National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) walk supporting those suffering from mental illness.
They showed up 7:00AM at the Imperial Valley mall with their walking shoes and their Rotarians at Work shirts. Interacters and Rotarians helped set up the many booths at the event. At 8:00AM they took a brisk walk around the mall which ended inside the mall area where several organizations had set up booths. Among the organizations were Innercare, Imperial County Behavioral Health, Reps for Vets, Sun Valley Behavioral Health, and other organizations that support those suffering from mental illness.
Most importantly, the club raised $880.00 and district-wide over $11,000.00 was raised for NAMI. Great job fellow Rotarians!
