Over the past year, while attending Rotary club meetings in District 5340, I've made it a point to bring Rosebud along to spread awareness about Canine Companions and their invaluable work in training service dogs for lifelong partnerships with individuals with disabilities. Donna and I have dedicated several years to being puppy raisers. We ensure these specially bred puppies have a secure home, attend obedience classes, enjoy a nutritious diet, experience socialization, and receive abundant love. As my tenure as District Governor draws to a close, so does my time with Rosebud. She's embarking on a six-month professional training program at Canine Companions at the Oceanside Southwest Regional Training Center. Parting is difficult, but we send her off with our best wishes. We're hopeful that come November, we'll escort her across the stage to meet her permanent companion.

Making a difference comes in many forms, but for me, this avenue has been immensely joyful and fulfilling. To discover more about Canine Companions, their expertise, and their esteemed reputation in service dog training, please visit their website.
