I am excited to share that this weekend presidents-elect from District 5340 as well as all Districts in the Southeast region will be participating in the 46th year of Southwest PETS (Presidents-Elect Training Seminar). PETS started in 1978 with six Rotary Districts. Today we have grown to nine Rotary Districts and are adding two additional Districts next year. Leadership has planned a full weekend of fellowship, education and inspirational speakers for attendees. Attendees will have an opportunity to visit all the District Hospitality rooms throughout the weekend and will have the opportunity to meet with fellow presidents-elect from District 5000 (Hawaii), District 5240 (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura & Kern Counties), District 5280 (Los Angeles Area), District 5300 (Pasadena, High Desert & Las Vegas Area), District 5340 (Orange Country), District 5330 (Inland Empire; Low Desert), District 5340 (San Diego), District 5495 (Central; Northern Arizona); District 5500 (Tucson; Southern Arizona) as well as your District leadership.
Our incoming District Governor, Dianne Crawford and her team have prepared classes that will provide the president’s-elect with information they need to lead their clubs. Coordinators have assembled an incredible lineup of speakers starting with the event’s MC Jason Browne a fellow Rotarian from District 7360 located in Philadelphia. Mary Latham from New Jersey, RI Foundation Chair and Past Rotary International President Barry Rassin from Nassau, Bahamas, Jean Irwin- Hatfield, a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar from Sacramento. In addition, our Zone Director Dan Himelspach from Denver, Stephanie Urchick our incoming Rotary International President from Pennsylvania and Lex Gillette from Chula Vista will be speaking. Tremendous effort was given to reaching out to the Rotary World to bring the very best speakers to enlighten and motivate attendees.
