Today is National Friendship Day, Yes, last week was International Friendship Day. On the first Sunday in August, National Friendship Day encourages people across the country and world to connect with friends. Make a new friend or reconnect with an old one. August is also Membership and New Club Development Month for Rotary International. What better way to connect with a friend than to invite them to your club’s Rotary meeting or, better yet, your club’s service activity. Let’s get more people in Rotary to help us Create Hope in the World.
From the week’s club visits: The Rotary Club of Solana Beach Eco has a Zero Waste initiative. Clubs should be looking to reduce waste at their weekly meetings; use reusable dinnerware, divert organic waste from the landfill, recycle properly, offer a vegetarian option in the menu.
