Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to help deliver home-cooked meals to seniors living in San Diego County.  Volunteers delivering meals allows Meals on Wheels San Diego County's seniors to remain independent by providing nutritious meals and critical safety checks. Sometimes a volunteer is the only person their seniors see all day. Meals on Wheels San Diego County could not serve over 4,000 seniors each year without the help of their gracious volunteers.

Volunteers pick up coolers with meals at a designated location close to their home or business, then log into their Mobile Meals app which will navigate them to each senior home on an optimized route. Volunteers will ask each senior if they are doing okay as a safety check. Any reasons of concern can be easily reported on their app to ensure that Meals on Wheels can follow up with the client.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to have brief, friendly interactions with seniors as well as deliver the birthday gifts and care packages we provide. Meals on Wheels also delivers free cat and dog food to their seniors' pets.
