May is Youth Service Month—a time to celebrate, uplift, and invest in the next generation of leaders through Rotary’s powerful youth programs. There are so many youth activities available that clubs can promote and support.
From Youth Exchange and RYLA to Interact, LEAD, and Model UN, these initiatives help young people grow in confidence, broaden their worldviews, and develop the leadership skills needed to shape a better future. Youth Service is one of Rotary’s Five Avenues of Service because it ensures our legacy of "Service Above Self" is carried forward with passion and purpose.
Across our District, we see the impact: Interact students leading community drives, RYLA graduates becoming Rotaractors or club members, and Youth Exchange students returning home as global citizens. This month let’s recommit to mentoring and empowering youth. As we approach Rotary’s EPIC Day of Service on May 17th, I urge every club to plan collaborative service projects and invite alumni of your youth programs to join you. It’s a meaningful way to reconnect, inspire, and serve—together.
Let’s show our youth that Rotary isn’t just something you participate in, it’s something you live.
