DG Dianne Governor offers reflections on the true spirit of Christmas.
As we come together with family and friends and look back on the year, we're reminded of the holiday season's true essence—giving, family, service, love, peace, and goodwill. While these words resonate during this season, for Rotarians, they transcend mere seasonal use; they are principles for daily living. Through our daily service, we live these ideals and encourage others to follow suit.
This season, the clubs in our district have profoundly impacted the lives of families, veterans, and many others through food and toy drives, financial donations, and kind gestures. You have delivered hope to those in need, happiness to children, and solace to communities. This embodies the principle of "Service Above Self," and it fills me with pride to witness our deep commitment to these ideals. I am proud to be a Rotarian!
The phrase "Peace on Earth" holds particular significance during the holiday season, yet it represents an objective we diligently pursue throughout the year. Through the endeavors of Rotary—be it nurturing understanding, offering humanitarian assistance, or enabling communities to flourish—we pave the way for a more tranquil world.
Thank you for exemplifying the true spirit of service to others. May you and your family enjoy a New Year filled with health, happiness, and peace.
