As some of you know, I was diagnosed with Leukemia on Saturday May 6th. I very much appreciate the outpouring of love and support I have received already. The ward I’m on at Scripps Green Hospital does not accept flowers, but cards, notes, letters are appreciated. My mailing address is 3555 Rosecrans St. Suite 114-109. San Diego, CA 92110. I’m hoping to write a blog post for folks to follow along but as I head into the most difficult parts of my treatments my energy levels are depleting. All I can do is give every day my very best as a patient, husband, father and Rotarian.  I remain positive for a good outcome. With chemotherapy, my white blood count has begun to drop, as it should, so that is good news. Everyday counts - go out and live every day as if it is your last. Say I love you, give hugs, and serve others! It continues to help me each day to follow these few simple steps.

As a result of this, a lot of day-in-and-day-out stuff will be changing. Please contact Patty Fortin or Bonnie Welch, for your Rotary questions. Incoming DG Don Fipps will be taking over most of the mundane but important daily tasks. Steve Weitzen is the designated Vice Governor for me this year, but his father recently passed and his family needs time to mourn, He too will be a great help. Life moves on, and I could not be happier with the team our district has in place.
