Carlsbad Rotary Club understands that literacy is key to student success, and they wanted to make purchasing books affordable. As a result, Friday, April 21 the Carlsbad Rotary Club sponsored Jefferson Elementary School's Book Fair #2.
Students in pre-K to 5th grade could purchase two books apiece for 25 cents each (of course that’s nowhere near what the new books cost the club). A big thank you goes to Rotarian Maureen Taylor for organizing the event and to Rotarian salespersons for the day Yvonne Finocchiaro, Tom Applegate and Maureen Taylor. Nothing could happen without volunteers who do the set up so a shout out to Rotarians Vince Ponce, Jani Jackson and Julie Walker for making sure things were ready for a day of reading.
