Dear Rotarians:

What an exciting first month this has been as your District Governor.  I visited 10 clubs in July.  I enjoyed sharing my presentation that includes my "Rotary Moment" and both RI President, Mark Maloney's and my District goals for the 2019-2020 Rotary year.

At each visit, I honor a "Club Super Hero".  I am also presenting the Presidents with a "Pennies for Polio" jar as we continue our fight against Polio.  I am looking forward to 50 more club visits.

Thank you for your hospitality.  It is so exciting for me to learn all about your clubs and the many ways that you serve your communities and each other.  I also appreciate the honesty and concerns shared by all of your board members when I open my meeting with "What can the District do to help make this year even better for your club?".  As mentioned before, this year I want to focus on you, and your clubs.  I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your activities.  Remember that we make "Make Good Things Happen with Love, Compassion and Joy"!

August is Rotary Membership Month.  Diane Crawford and the Membership Committee have planned a great event on Saturday, August 10 at USD.  There is still time to register on the District website.  This is a great event for Club presidents, president-elect and Membership Committee members as Rotary Connects the World.

This month our District Foundation Committee will be meeting to approve the District Designated Funds for the District Grants that you clubs have applied for.  I hope that all of you have submitted them so you can continue the great work that you do as "Ordinary People, Doing Extraordinary, and Changing Lives".
