On September 12, 2019, Rotary District 5340 officially celebrated the Dave and Marilee Breeding Day in recognition of Past District Governor Dave and Marilee Breeding's many contributions to Rotary's International humanitarian programs both locally and abroad.
 
During a regular meeting of the Fallbrook Rotary Club. District Governor, Marta Knight arranged to have Breeding family members, past and current Rotary leaders from San Diego, Orange Country and Central California join in honoring Dave and Marilee.  Over 15 Past District Governors, including several of Dave's 2010-2011 governor classmates attended, with many speaking of their heart-warming experiences over the years with Dave and Marilee.
 
Past Governor, Pam Russell noted that "As my aide, Dave was by my side always.  He heard what I didn't hear, saw what I didn't see.  He made me a better District Governor".                                                                                                 
Past Governor, Carl Kruse commented "As Dave's Chief of Staff during his term as Governor, I  witnessed numerous times a dedicated leader with enthusiasm for his job and a passion for all".
 
Past Governor, Janice Kurth remarked that "As a great inspirer and mentor, Dave inspired me in all things Rotary and I have passed this on to others.  Therefore, his reach is magnified across generations and in those he greatly touched.
 
Dave and Marilee received letters of recognition from current Rotary International President, Mark Maloney and 2010-11 President, Ray Klinginsmith.  
 
Dave was recognized for his leadership in all areas of Rotary, including The Rotary Foundation, Future Leaders Training, Polio eradication and being a mentor to many new Rotarians.
 
Dave and Marilee are both members of the Fallbrook Rotary Club.
