This year's Governor's Dinner marked a significant triumph, as Rotarians from across the District convened to celebrate the transition of leadership and the virtues of Rotary. The event was filled with humor and a sense of pride. The attendees were captivated by the exceptional skills of our Music Competition finalists, who gave solo performances that earned them standing ovations.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the outgoing District Governor, Don Fipps, for a remarkable year of growth and inspiration under his guidance. His Governor's message highlights the numerous achievements of the past year that have brought hope to many. His leadership has been pivotal, motivating us to embody our motto, "Service Above Self." During his term, our district successfully completed 98 projects involving 43 clubs, with a total contribution of $317,000. We awarded 15 global grants, totaling over $670,000. Furthermore, Rotary International granted our district an additional $25,000 to aid flood victims in Southeast San Diego. Thanks to your generous donations, our district raised over $1 million for the Rotary Foundation. This success relies on Rotarians who consistently go the extra mile to enable these accomplishments. In recognition, District Governor Don Fipps presented "People of Action" and "Distinguished Service" awards and announced the District's Rotarian of the Year.

As leadership transitions, the baton must be passed. Assuming the role of District Governor for 2024-2025 is District Governor-Elect Dianne Crawford, a member of the Rotary Club of Southeast San Diego. Dianne was joined by numerous family members at the event, with several more attending via Zoom. Her grandson Kingston had the honor of inducting her as the new District Governor. In keeping with tradition, the outgoing leadership hands over their pin to their successor. Dianne presented her pin to Luis Carranza, the new Governor-Elect; Luis then passed his to Jeb Bakke, the new Governor Designee. The evening concluded with the exchange of club banners.
