Special thanks to District Governor Dan Gensler for stopping by the 100 Wave Challenge. Members of Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship including: Derren Lechuga (Past President of Pacific Beach Rotaract), Brett Morey (Founder of SURF and Past President of the Rotary Club of La Jolla Golden Triangle), Vince Ponce (Rotary Club of Carlsbad Hi Noon) along with Ken Barrett (Past President of the Rotary Club of Del Mar Solana Beach) knocked out 100 waves each on Saturday, Oct. 23rd at Oceanside Harbor.  Each of these men along with 30 others on the Degree 33 Surfboards 100 Wave Challenge team helped raise over $65,000for Boys to Men Mentoring and at-risk teens.  In fact, this 12th Annual event has broken $300,000 and is tracking to eclipse last year's record of $509,000.

There is still time to give, volunteer as food runners as well as participate.  Check out the following on the Surfers Unite website, take a look at their Events page for an upcoming beach clean up and ugly sweater paddle out and text "100Wave" to 858-602-2532 to get involved.  Together we change hearts and lives for fatherless teenage boys and build men of integrity and purpose.  Thanks to the generosity of Rotarians Brett is about to break $11,000 to sponsor 11 kids in this program.
