At the first Coronado Rotary Meeting of the new leadership year led by President LuAnn Miller, the club awarded a $12,000 check to Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. The Wolf Pack, made up of a team of amputees who play basketball, inspires the July 4th crowd by shooting baskets through the hoop on the Coronado Rotary float as it glides down Coronado's main street. They are supported by the Warrior Foundation, which helps active duty and medically retired soldiers. The grant will pay for special ultralight wheelchairs for Wolf Pack members and a customized wheelchair for a paralyzed Marine, among other necessities for battle injured warriors.
