The Torrey Pines (La Jolla) Rotary Club will resurrect the Care’n’Share Toy Drive, its signature project, at the San Diego County Fair next month. Before the fair was suspended because of Covid, the club collected more than 100,000 stuffed animals donated by fairgoers. Its goal this year is to collect at least 12,000 stuffed animals for the benefit of hospitalized children in local hospitals.

The fair this year will be open Wednesday through Sunday evenings between June 8 and July 4. The club is seeking Rotarian and non-Rotarian volunteers to help staff the toy-drive booths during the 7 to 10 PM and 10 to 11 PM shifts every day the fair is open. All volunteers will receive free tickets to the fair and free parking across the street.
