District 5340's Military Coordinating Committee (DMCC) is promoting participation in an annual holiday event to help local military families.
The San Diego Armed Services YMCA is conducting their annual toy drive to support their event, “Operation Holiday Joy” on December 11. This program supports military families during the holidays by celebrating their service and sacrifice to our nation. Each eligible family will receive two toys valued at $20 - $25 for each of their children and gifts for the whole family to enjoy. The goal is to serve over 1,200 military children and their families this year. Every year, they have to turn away additional families who would be eligible due to lack of resources.
If you'd like to host a toy drive to help sustain our outreach efforts to military families during the holiday season, toys are due December 9, 2024. The drop off location is 3293 Santo Road, San Diego, CA 92124. The event location is at 3200 Santo Road, San Diego, CA 92124.
