What is the difference between a Paul Harris Fellow and Paul Harris Society Member?

Anyone who cumulatively contributes $1,000 during any time period becomes a Paul Harris Fellow. A person can also be named a fellow if someone else uses 1,000 Foundation recognition points to honor him or her as such. A member of the Paul Harris Society contributes at least $1,000 each year to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus Fund, or approved Foundation grants.

Do my monthly credit card contributions count toward membership in the PHS?

Yes, as long as you have so stipulated your monthly contributions are to go to Annual Giving or Restricted Giving. As an example, Restricted Giving could be PolioPlus.

Does my $1,000 each fiscal year to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Giving and/or Restricted Giving include my spouse, since California is a community-property state?

No, each donor must give $1,000 to be a member of the Paul Harris Society.

Do I have to make a $1,000 donation when I decide to join the Paul Harris Society?

Not at all. By joining, you are signaling your commitment to make a minimum of $1,000 donation by the end of the fiscal year.

Where do I send my $1,000?

The donation flows through the club as any donation to The Rotary Foundation normally does. Donors are encouraged to make their checks payable to The Rotary Foundation, and have the Club Foundation Chair complete the Contribution/Recognition Form RF-123, attach the check to the Form and send to Rotary for processing. You may also consider making a donation online, or registering for Rotary Direct to make automatic monthly gifts.

If I give $5,000 to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund and/or Restricted Giving in one year, do I remain a member for five years?

Yes, your generous $5,000 contribution would qualify you for five years of membership in the Paul Harris Society.

Who can I reach out to if I have questions about the Paul Harris Society?
