We joined the Encinitas Rotary Club for lunch, did some shopping in one of the popular malls (of which there are many in Southern California), and then ended with a pool party in the evening for a final goodbye to the Encinitas Rotary Club.

We arrived early and formed a receiving line to greet the members of the Encinitas Rotary Club.

Jon Nerenbeg leads the arrival of the Encinitas Rotary Club members. All receive a warm greeting from the students.

Our meeting starts.

We have a good time exchanging Rotary flags after having been introduced to each student. Joining us (center in black dress) is Justine Gheysens, our incoming Short-term Youth Exchange student from France.

After the shopping trip to Carlsbad Country Stores we gather at the "pool house" in the home of Tony and Kathy Hutchinson. We're ready to party.

Exchange students find fellowship in Rotary.

Encinitas Rotary members enjoy the fellowship as always.

Shakila Guevara, our outgoing Short-term Youth Exchange student from Encinitas, who has just returned from France (with Justine - seen in the earlier "flag exchange" photo), joins our party and tells the girls of her adventures with Justine in France.

More Encinitas Rotary host family members arrive to pick up their respective exchange students.

The girls want a last dip in the hot tub.

The boys finally join the girls, but it's time to close the party. We say our final good-byes to the Encinitas Rotary Club and thank them for a wonderful week.
