The last event of the camp is our farewell party - attended by all host families from both the Del Mar/Solana Sunrise Club and the Encinitas Club.

We start to gather on the back porch.

And the kids start hitting the pool - a beautiful setting for a swim.

The snacks are ready to sample.

And another kind of "pool" is a hit. Mahima is not shy. What a shot!

A tradition is the serving of the ten ethnic dishes prepared by the exchange students (with a little help from each of the host moms & dads).

It's an enjoyable time for all the host family members

And we prepare a special birthday cake for Valerie.

Valerie's host mom, Rosemary Lieberman, leads her in for the surprise.

Cheers and a song welcome Valerie to her very important 16th year.

Rotary sisters, Mahima, Eliane and Martina, present a thoughtful gift with warm wishes for the future.

Cake in the face of the birthday girl is an American tradition. Valerie is a good sport, and adjusts well to the fun.

And it's into the hot tub for a last few moments together before the final farewell.

It's hard to leave the fun, but the last game is at hand. Soon it will be time to pack and prepare for tomorrow's flight home. The camp was a hugh success - and the memory will be cherished for years to come.
