The first day of activities with the second club, the Encinitas Rotary Club, was a full day of beach activities. It started with pancake breakfast, after which there was beach fun, surfing, and a bar-b-q bon fire at night.

A welcome start to a chilly morning was a delicious pancake breakfast.

A little volleyball should warm us up

We have expert players on the court

With wetsuits the group is ready to hit the waves.

Martina seems confident. "This should be easy".

It's not quite as easy as it appears.

"Will I ever get the hang of this"?

Mahima doesn't make it any easier

"I think I've finally got it."

It can be dangerous out there in the surf.

Valerie has success

And Eliane is a natural on the waves

After lunch it's a little American football on the beach with new friends from a local high school.

The visiting team of exchange students battle it out with the home team from our high school

Finally its time to relax with the traditional American bon fire snack - smores.

No camp fire is complete without a song, so Jean Charles delivers.

And we end the day with a blazing fire.
