North County New Generations Club
Submitted by Scott Cadwallader (jscadwallader@sbcglobal.net) on 9/16/08
This is an exciting time in North County as we continue to move full speed ahead on establishing a New Generations Club for our area. The initial organizing meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 6:00 PM at the Vista Entertainment Center (435 W. Vista Way, Vista). The members of a New Generations Club are typically in their early 20's to mid 40's, and meet in a "happy hour" format after work. If you know someone in this age range who works or lives in North County, would make a great Rotarian, and for whom a traditional breakfast/lunch club does not fit their schedule, we'd like to speak with them about the New Generations Club. Please forward any names to Keith Brentlinger (kbrentlinger@hwpinsurance.com) or Scott Cadwallader (jscadwallader@sbcglobal.net).

There are approximately 50 District leadership positions and committees that need to be filled each Rotary year. I have attached a list of them along with an Interest Form. Some positions, such as Assistant Governor, require that a Rotarian has already served as Club President. Nevertheless, there are many positions where there are no such requirements. Some only require a willingness to serve and strong interest. If you have an interest in serving, please complete the form and send it to the address shown by September 1, 2008. Thank you for your interest!

To have your club program listed, you need to enter your club program information in the Calendar Module of ClubWeb. If you do not see your club listed in there, it means we do not have this information available, and you can ask your club leadership to consider using this system. Convention FAQ
Submitted by Hey Jude Gallegos (hey-jude@prodigy.net) on 5/2/08
FAQ: Can I sign up for just one day of the convention to attend the opening ceremony? Answer: You must sign up for the entire convention. There is one price: $345. You get the spectacular opening ceremonies, entrance to the House of Friendship which offers shopping and information booths for potential projects, workshops, convention plenary sessions, election of the next President of Rotary International, and Fabulous Closing Ceremonies. If you can only stay a day or two this is still a great bargain. I don't know of any other 4 day conference this packed full of information, fun and shopping that has a lower price tag. I am linking you to the "Why Attend" page of the website so you can see what is offered for that price. Hope to see you there.
