Grants, Low Cost Shelters, District
Simplified Grants, and Individual Grants

Nations Association Dinner |
|
UNITED
NATIONS ASSOCIATION DINNER has honored Steve Brown
and the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club. Steve
and the LJGT Rotarians have been chosen to receive the 2003
Eleanor Roosevelt Human Right Award, with which the UN
Association honors the vital humanitarian work that he and
they do, both locally and globally. President Pam Russell
has been representing the LJGT Club.
The
award was presented at the annual UN Day celebration on Saturday
evening, October 25th, 2003, at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for
Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego.

Welcome
Back, Fary!
Fary
Moini is back from Afghanistan after 4 months of
service over there, and was featured on Channel
8 News and Channel 10
News on March 22, 2004. Check the streaming video
below if you missed it. Fary Moini had receive the
Lifetime's Achievement Award in May 2003 for her
volunteer work in Afghanistan (see
video). You may also see Fary's
story from her 2002 trip. Steve Brown was also
in Afghanistan for 2 weeks. You can read his

Achievement Awards |

Moini Honored by San Diego Press |
|
The
San Diego Press Club has honored Fary as a "Headliner of
the Year" during its annual awards banquet on Thursday,
March 6, 2003 at the U.S. Grant Hotel. Fary was recognized in
the category of "community activist" for her
leadership in the Afghanistan school project. Other honorees
feted at the Press Club included Westerfield
prosecutor Jeff Dusek, Bonnie Dumanis, Anne Evans (for the
Torrey Pines Lodge), restaurateur Mary Pappas, Jack O'Brien
(Old Globe), Susan Armenta (Monarch School for Homeless
Teens) and Carlos Gutierrez (SDSU Mascot Monty Montezuma).
