Dear Rotary Leaders,

RI Member Access
I still receive many inquiries about some information that is accessible through the Member Access of the Rotary International website. If you have not registered yet for Member Access, and don't know how to do it, please go to http://www.rotary5340.org/notes/2006-07.html and look at the second section of the Simple Web Instructions PDF document. Every member of your club can have access to their own information, including the history of their contributions to The Rotary Foundation. Please make sure all your club members are made aware of this.

Tastevin at District Council
District Council on August 1 will be a great opportunity for the Assistant Governors and other District Leadership to wear their tastevin. If you have received one, remember to bring it to the meeting... Leave it in your car is you think you might forget...

PHD Location
We now have secured a location for the Paul Harris Gala Dinner of November 11. It will be at the Sheraton Hotel in Harbor Island. We are going back to the classic black-tie optional sit-down dinner. The price will be $75 per person. Online registration will be released soon. In the meantime, make sure the date and location are announced to all club members. Contact the event chair Trudy Armstrong if you would like to help.

Matching Grants Website
The website at www.MatchingGrants.org is a great resource for Matching Grant projects. Not only to find a project if you are looking for one, but also to help with the paperwork and to keep track of the project status. If your club plans to do a Matching Grant this year, make sure you use this website, and make sure you get everything in motion as early as possible. If you wait for the last minute the approval process takes much longer, and you run the risk that The Rotary Foundation, or the District, will run out of matching funds. Contact the District Grants Subcommittee Chair, Dan Gensler, if you have any questions.

Relief Efforts in Lebanon
Miko Peled from the Rotary Club of Coronado has established some reliable contact with some clubs in Southern Lebanon to organize some relief efforts for refugees. Miko is an Israeli-American. This is a perfect example to show that the humanitarian work of Rotary goes beyond citizenship and politics. Contact Miko Peled for more information.
