Salt Lake City Convention Program
For those of you going to the International Convention in Salt
Lake City, you can now prepare your trip in detail since the official
Convention program has been published on the
Rotary International website.
LA 2008 Convention Promotion in Salt Lake City
Again for those going to Salt Lake City, there will be a
promotion booth for the Los Angeles 2008 International Convention.
The Host Organization Committee is asking if you would give them
three hours of your time to help staff their Convention
Booth. This will be a big booth, and they expect you will have many
one-on-one contacts with Rotarians there about the Los Angeles
Convention. Volunteers will be trained there, and you will come away with
a huge understanding of the LA Convention. We are asking that you make
announcements to your club membership about this opportunity. Volunteers
should contact Lee Jackman at:
leejackman@aol.com.
Presidential Citations
Congratulations to the many Clubs in the District that fulfilled
the requirements to get the Presidential Citation. The
framed certificates were given during the main dinner at the District
Conference in Ensenada. Here are the clubs that were recognized:
Carlsbad, Carlsbad Hi-Noon, Coronado, Del Mar, El Cajon Breakfast, El
Camino Real, Encinitas, Encinitas Coastal, Escondido, Escondido East,
Escondido Sunrise, Fallbrook, Imperial (Valley Breakfast), La Jolla, La
Jolla Golden Triangle, La Mesa Sunrise, Lemon Grove, Mission Bay,
National City, Ramona, Rancho Bernardo Sunrise, Rancho Santa Fe, San
Diego North, San Luis Rey, Torrey Pines (La Jolla), and Valley
Center. That's 26 out of 60 clubs.
Please Announce the District Events at Club Meetings
I keep getting people who tell me they did not know
there was such or such event in the district, like the Matching Grants
Seminar last Saturday. Please keep announcing
every week from the podium the
upcoming events in the District. This is for the benefit of your club
membership, so that they can get the training we provide to them. I
undertand this can feel repetitive, but some of the club members are not
there every week. All the information about the upcoming events can be
found on the
events
registration page, or in the
online
calendar. See also the bottom of this email.
