Issue 22
Dear Rotary Leaders,
Rotarians At Work Day
April 28 is next Saturday! For the
last minute preparations here are some recommendations:
Website: 1. Make sure your
Club project(s) is(are) listed on the
Rotarians At Work
website. Make sure all the specific information is listed on your
page(s): time, location, number of
volunteers. If you need to update a project page, there is a
"Project Update Login Page"
link at the bottom of each page. If you do not know the password to
update your page you can have it emailed to the project contact
person.
2. If your club is having multiple projects on April 28, be aware that
you can click on a club name on a project page to get a sub-list of
projects for a club. See the
list
for San Diego for instance.
3. At the bottom of a list or sub-list of projects there is a "Full
Printable List" link to have all the corresponding project
descriptions on the same page. See
full list, and
list for San Diego.
Press Release: The District is
sending a Press Release for Rotarians At Work Day, but it will be even
more effective if all the clubs are also doing it for their
own projects. Make sure your PR Chair gets the word out to the
Press.
Photos: Make sure that
somebody is going to be at your project with a digital camera to document
the work. Take plenty of photos showing the Rotarians At Work
tee-shirts and club banners. After the
project you will be able to make a selection of the best photos, and we
will implement a way to have you upload the photos to your project page
on the website.
Visitation Schedule: I will
try to visit as many project as I can. So will Bob Watson, Jim O'Meara,
Pam Russell, and others. Let us know if there is any specific time of the
day were it would be good for you to have a representative from the
District, like for a dedication ceremony. Also send this
information to your Assistant Governor. Most of them will
try to visit your club projects.
District Conference Registration
Please make additional announcements at your club meetings about
the District
Conference. The
Conference Program Summary has been published on the website. Please
print a few copies, and bring them at your club meetings, together with
the
Conference Flyer. We don't want people to wait for the last minute to
register, this is making things more complicated for us to estimate the
attendance numbers.
Registration for district events
We have just released the
online
registration for many upcoming District events. make sure you make
the necessary announcements during your club meetings.

Rotary Padres Games
We have 6 designated Rotary Games with the Padres.
All games have a flag ceremony and a field ceremony honoring Rotary. See
the dates on the
Event
Registration page. This is a great opportunity for some Rotary
Fellowship.
Yellow Pages
Remember that the
District
Yellow Pages is a great way to advertize your business. I was
recently looking for somebody to remodel my master bathroom, and I was
disappointed that there were no contractors listed in there. I would have
liked to give some business to a fellow Rotarian. On the other hand, you
can find some Mexican Auto Insurance if you are planning to
Drive to the District Conference in Ensenada. See
Hugh Kramer's "Discover Baja" listing from the Old Mission
Rotary Club.
GSE Team Selection
The 2007-08 GSE Team members have been selected.
They will go to India in late Dec 2007 under the leadership of
Larry Sundram. You can see photos and bios of the team members on
the
District
Website.
