Issue 18

Dear Rotary Leaders,

Rotarians At Work
Rotarians At Work Day
is coming on April 28. I am asking each club in the District to select their own "hands-on" project for this day. I have just released a new website at www.RotariansAtWork.org where you can register your project(s). We want to build the list so that everybody can see the big picture. This website will also be used by the other Districts in the World participating to Rotarians At Work.
You can go to the website and click on Submit a Project, then enter your project information. When you save the page it will create a new page for your project and it will be added to the master list. You will be able to update your page later to add more information. Please use the "Project Description" field to give all the information about the project, what will be done, directions, what to wear, what to bring, number of people expected, etc. You can then link to this page from your own club website so that everybody gets the information.

District Assembly Registration
Registration has been released for the District Assembly on March 24. This is DGE Jim O'Meara's training for the 2007-08 Club Leadership. Everybody is welcome to attend, including new members. During registration you need to select the classes you are planning to attend. You can always change your mind later, but this will help us to plan ahead for the size of the classrooms.

District Conference Registration
Remember that the price for the registration package goes from $185 to $215 on March 16, so please remind all your clubs members to register early to get this $30 discount. There are less than 3 weeks left. Click here for information and registration.

We still have some DDF for Matching Grants
After reviewing all the accounting for the District Designated Funds we spent this year, we have over $30,000 left for Matching Grants this year. The SHARE Committee has decided to let the clubs apply for additional funds on a first come first served basis, even if you already used your $4,000 yearly allocation. Please contact the District Grants Subcommittee Chair Dan Gensler if you would like to do another project. Click here to see the list of ongoing projects in the District this year.

Presidential Citation
Time to think about sending in the form to apply for the 2006-07 Presidential Citation for your club. Click here to see the brochure and form on the RI Website. The form must be completed and sent to the District Office by April 1. Remember that this is some recognition for your club.

COL Materials
The Council on Legislation will take place in Chicago on April 22-28. Our District representative is PDG Ron Beaubien. The proposed legislation that will be discussed at the Council is available for download on the RI website. Please contact Ron Beaubien if you have specific comments/feelings about some of the proposed enactments.

E-Clubs
E-Clubs are clubs that only meet online through a website. There are some easy ways to do online makeups at E-Clubs. Somebody asked me recently how many E-Clubs there were in the world. I came accross this list on the RI website. It has hyperlink to the various E-Clubs. Instructions for makeups are on the club websites.
