Issue 11

Dear Rotary Leaders,

2008-09 RI President
Dong Kurn Lee
, a Rotary Foundation trustee and a member of the Rotary Club of Seoul Hangang, Seoul, Korea, is the selection of the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International in 2008-09. Click here for more information.

Foundation Seminar
I received some outstanding feedback after the Foundation Seminar. This was an oustanding program! Thanks to all the participants. We will be producing a DVD of the Seminar and send a copy to all the clubs so that people who missed the Seminar can have an opportunity to catch up... In the meantime, you can see some of the video segments that we played at the Seminar, check the Foundation page on the District website.

Nov 11 Raffle Tickets
The Foundation Raffle tickets were distributed at the Foundation Seminar to the various clubs. They will be mailed to you if nobody from your club picked them up. Make sure you know who in your club has them!

Aug-31 Foundation Report
The lastest report for club contributions to The Rotary Foundation has been released on the district website. You can also find the reports for the previous years to compare your club achievements. The district total for annual giving is at $48,500, just short of 10% of our goal for the year. You can use the Foundation Raffle tickets as a motivation to get donations early in the year.

Circle of Life Recognition
PDG Sandi Rimer will continue to promote the Circle of Life recognition program, for Rotarians who are Paul Harris Fellow, and who sponsored a member in their club who is still a member in the club. These Rotarians get to wear a special Rotary pin with a white circle around them. Contact Sandi Rimer if you would like more information on how to implement this program in your club.

Membership through the Rotary Magazine
A great idea from the La Mesa Rotary Club: if you don't "religiously" keep your old issues of the Rotarian Magazine, you can donate them to your local medical or dental office, so that other patients can learn about Rotary. We recommend to stick a label to hide your address information, with some text like: We hope that you enjoy reading about the projects and events of Rotary. If you would like to know more about your local Rotary chapters, please contact us at <your club website address>.
You can also donate them to your local library, or even buy a subscription for them. We recommend also to buy a subscription for the school library of your Interact Club.
