The
2006-07 GSE team is a single vocation medical team
that is visiting hospitals in East Africa to assess
humanitarian needs, as well as researching opportunities for
potential matching grant projects.
The
team is visiting East Africa for one
month from April 20 to May 20, 2007. Read

GSE Team
from East Africa (D-9200) |
 Welcome
to the Group Study Exchange Team from District 9200.
They arrived Sunday May 1st in the evening. They will stay
in San Diego and Imperial Counties until May 28.
Monday,
May 2, they had an orientation meeting with Gov. Bob Watson
and Gov. Elect Philippe Lamoise. After
their meeting, they enjoyed a Mexican lunch in Old Town San
Diego.
The
first week the Team is in the San Diego Metro area, and the
following week they will be in the North County Inland Area.

 The
GSE team from D-9100 will be visiting D-5340 from February 4
- March 4 2006. Photos will be posted frequently to this
site as they enjoy their cultural, educational and social
experiences while guests in our district.

 The
incoming GSE Team from Ecuador (D4400) was in San Diego
in April 2005. They were hosted by local
Rotarians.
The
GSE Team arrived Sunday April 3rd at 7 pm. The team was met
by: DG Sandi; TRF Chair Marge Cole; GSE Chair Bill Stumbaugh;
GSE Committee members Russ Hanthorn, Bill Ashman and David
Ballesteros.

 District
5340’s Centennial GSE Team went to Ecuador, District 4400,
in November 2004. The team, lead by Carlsbad Rotarian Russ
Hanthorn, was composed of four educators from our district:
•
Cynthia Holman teaches 8th grade at Memorial Academy,
Barrio Logan, and is sponsored by S.E. San Diego Rotary
•
Linda Machado is a 3d grade bilingual teacher at Kempton
School, La Mesa, and is sponsored by La Mesa Sunrise
Rotary
•
Nicole Mack teaches Spanish at Pacific Beach Middle and is
sponsored by Mission Bay Rotary
•
Tara Neldon teaches Spanish at Rancho Bernardo H.S. and is
sponsored by Rancho Bernardo Rotary

has been to
Ecuador, District 4400, during the 2003-2004 Rotary
year. The team leader was Bill Stumbaugh. Bill is Director of Pupil Services for the
Santee
School District
and a member of the Santee-Lakeside Rotary club, serving as its president in
