 The
incoming GSE Team from Ecuador (D4400) arrived in San Diego
on Saturday, March 6. They will visit our district for the
next four weeks and will return to Ecuador on April 2. The
team met on Sunday, March 7, with members of our district
and received a briefing on the activities scheduled for them
during their visit.

The
Team visited Coronado and the Metro area last week and are
currently visiting in East County. They will go to Imperial
County the week of March 21-27 and conclude their visit in the
North County the last week of March. There will be a farewell
reception for them on Thursday, April 1, from 600--800 PM at
the Sheraton Harbor Island Hotel--Executive Rooms 3A & 3B.
All are welcome.

San
Diego North Rotarians President Ken Heinz and Jean Heinz
graciously hosted the GSE Team and Rotary Alumni Association
members to a reception and dinner at their home on Saturday
evening, March 13. The Team had just completed their week
being hosted by Coronado Rotarians and at the end of the
evening they left with their new host families for a week in
East County.
Team members express their appreciation to hosts Ken and Jean
Heinz.
Team member Jorge Villarroel talks with Tom Joseph, a short
term youth exchange student who will spend a month in Ecuador
this summer. Tom is sponsored by the Encinitas Rotary club.

The
GSE Team from Ecuador (D4400) visited the El Cajon Rotary Club
on Tuesday, March 16. Second from left in the photo is Adriana
Cabrera, a former Youth Exchange student from Ecuador. Adriana
was hosted by Club 33 last year during her one year exchange.
She is now living in San Diego and attending Grossmont
College.
