Club 33 | Committees

Doing the work of Rotary begins in your committees

Furthering the work of Rotary in your community, your region or internationally happens in our committees. You have an enormous opportunity as a volunteer in Club 33 to become involved and active. It’s personally rewarding and great fun!

We have many levels of time commitments as well as different kinds of service to the club and community. We encourage you to join at least 2 committees and see what works best for you. Committee work is where you really get to know fellow Rotarians and share the fellowship that ties us all together.

With the information on our many committees in Club 33 shown at the right, you will be able to review each synopsis and see which ones are a fit for your personal interests. To become part of a committee, simply contact the chair via the email link to answer any questions you may have. Being part of a committee is the best way to get to know members, enjoy personal rewards and contribute to the success of Rotary.

Latest News: TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 29, 2008

There are seven action points the committee will be working on in the next few months. If you have an interest in assisting on any of these items, please contact the committee chair, Jerry Doran.

1) Banner Advertising – This can provide space on our website for the members to advertise their business. The banner will be able to roll through various ads at a particular pace. We would need to review the cost of maintaining this feature, the timetables of the ads and the potential interest in the ad space by the members. The concept is being presented to the board for their approval at their next meeting.

2) The committee needs to reach out with assisting the other committee chairs to learn and to utilize the committee pages as a format in communicating to their members. This would entail calling the committee chairs and spending some time with each of them, volunteers are needed.

3) Performing a demonstration at the club meeting on the uses and data that are available through the website. The purpose would be informative and educations for the members.

4) Having interactive forms for the membership process to be available on the website. The membership process is currently listed on the website in order to track the progress of a new member application.

5) Have the website be able to let members sign up for committees throughout the year. This function would then notify the chair of the committee and the office.

6) Program the electronic directory to be able to be downloaded and compatible with Outlook. The cost and the technical procedures would need to be reviewed.

7) Display a “Red Badge” symbol on the website. This would connect to the committee page and provide the Grotarians a source to review the upcoming events for themselves.

Current Goals: We will continue to update and upgrade or website. Any suggestions please feel free to leave us a message or call.

Purpose: To evaluate enhancements to the Club's use of Audio Visual; Website; Telephone/Data; Computer and other Systems to operate the Club in an effective and efficient manner.

Why join: You'll mingle with the brightest minds in technology in our club and help contribute to our always being on the "cutting edge" of the club's information systems.
