In Praise of Cats and Dogs

Inspired by his new books, A Treasury for Dog Lovers and A Treasury for Cat Lovers, author and broadcaster Richard Lederer will share information and inspiration about our most popular and beloved pet companions. Dr. Lederer will discuss the role of the San Diego Humane Society in the making of his pet treasuries and explore the special bond between pets and humans.
Paul Harris Fellow Richard Lederer is the author of more than 30 books about language, history, and humor, including his best-selling Anguished English series and his current books, A Treasury for Dog Lovers and A Treasury for Cat Lovers. He has been profiled in magazines as diverse as The New Yorker, People, and the National Enquirer and frequently appears on radio as a commentator on language.
Dr. Lederer's syndicated column, "Looking at Language," appears in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States. He has been named International Punster of the Year and Toastmasters International's Golden Gavel winner.

Grants Management Seminar

This Grant Management Seminar will explain in details the new grant process in District 5340 with the Future Vision Plan of The Rotary Foundation. We will cover the new "District Grants" and "Global Grants", and do a live demonstration of the online application process. Attendance of at least one club member is mandatory for clubs to be qualified to be able to do Global Grants with The Rotary Foundation.
